About the Role
We currently have an opportunity to work within our Orchard Community Care team for a Positive Behaviour Support Specialist on a permanent basis. As PBS Specialist you will have a key role in the delivery of effective, high quality, team based clinical support to individuals with an Intellectual Disability and or Autism.
You will provide these supports for individuals who have complex support needs and who may have experienced complex trauma.

The role revolves around understanding and resolving issues pertaining to individuals communicating with us through behaviours that we find challenging, and supporting individuals towards better wellbeing to enhance their potential. You will be expected to operate with medium levels of supervision and in a consultative manner with the Regional Director. Key duties include:
The role holder will also have working relationships & interactions with external agencies/ services such as HSE, HIQA, CDNT, TUSLA, External Clinical Support Services.
The role is full or part time (hybrid working model), involving travel to our homes across the southeast region and occasionally within the wider Orchard Care Group Organisation.

- Undertaking professional and clinical supervision regarding their practice.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues in the evolution of service responses to facilitate people supported in having a good life of their choosing.
- Support the delivery of our mission, vision, and values as part of their day-to-day work and positively promote our commitment to person-centred supports for individuals with disability.
- Assessment & Planning-conduct assessments of the function behaviours.
- PBS Programme implementation - Designing and implementing interventions, environmental modifications, preventative strategies for individuals.
- Evaluation & Monitoring - continually monitoring the effectiveness of programme and adjusting as needed.
- Training & Support - providing informal learning opportunities, mentoring and coaching to RD's, PIC's, Team Leaders and frontline staff on PBS matters
- Records & Accountability - maintain necessary data requirements
- Collaboration - working with multidisciplinary teams, clinicians and therapists

About You - Essential Criteria
- You will hold a MSc. In Applied Behaviour Analysis or Positive behaviour Support
- Have a minimum one years’ experience in a behaviour support role, with relevant experience in conducting assessments and developing related interventions
- Have experience of providing relevant behavioural support to adults and/or children in a similar setting for the relevant role
- Be Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA), or Irish Society of Behaviour Analysis (ISBA), or hold full membership of Division of Behaviour Analysis with the Psychological Society of Ireland
- You will be committed to a human rights based person - centred approach
- Be committed to a low arousal approach to managing behaviours that challenge
- Must have a full clean driver’s license (with eligibility to drive in Ireland) and use of a car
- Must have valid Garda Clearance and valid Overseas Clearance (if applicant lived abroad for more than 6 months).
Desirable Criteria:
- Primary Degree in Psychology
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in behaviour support roles
- IT skills proficiency
- Experience supporting adults with intellectual disabilities.
- Experience working with social care IT systems, quality systems, high level planning and organisational skills.
- Have experience of managing relationships and communicating with a wide stakeholder group
- Experience of working across multiple locations, regionally and nationally
