Orchard Community Care is opening a specialist residential service in Rosslare supporting adults with acquired brain injury (ABI), physical and sensory disabilities, and neurodegenerative conditions.
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team and play a key role in developing a service centred on dignity, rehabilitation, independence and person-centred care.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new service from the outset, working closely with residents, families and a multidisciplinary team to support people to live meaningful and fulfilling lives within their community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide and oversee high-quality nursing care for residents with complex neurological, physical and sensory needs.
- Complete nursing assessments and develop, implement and review individualised care plans.
- Administer medication and provide clinical interventions in line with NMBI and Orchard policies.
- Monitor residents' health and wellbeing and respond appropriately to changes in presentation.
- Work collaboratively with families and the multidisciplinary team, including Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech & Language Therapy.
- Promote independence, rehabilitation, community inclusion and quality of life.
- Provide clinical leadership, guidance and support to Care Assistants.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to quality assurance, audits and HIQA compliance.
- Participate in staff meetings, training and on-call/out-of-hours arrangements as required.
Essential Requirements
- Current NMBI registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum 2 years' post-registration nursing experience.
- Experience in neurological, rehabilitation, acquired brain injury, physical disability or long-term care is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
- Strong clinical assessment, care planning and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A person-centred and rehabilitative approach to care.
- Working knowledge of HIQA standards and relevant regulations.
- Full clean driving licence and eligibility to drive in Ireland.
- Eligibility to live and work in Ireland without restriction.
